Elinizdeki eser, İmam Ali’nin (a.s) Kadir gecesinde ve şahadet döşeğinde, mübarek dilinden akan bir vasiyetin şerhidir. Hemen belirtelim ki bu vasiyeti eden kişi, vahiy ocağında yetişen, kâinatın iftiharı, ilmin, adaletin ve zühdün canlı örneği Ebu Talib oğlu Ali’dir (a.s); inci yüklü bu vasiyetin muhatapları ise İmam Hasan (a.s), İmam Hüseyin (a.s), akrabalarından ve ashabından birkaç kişidir. Durum böyle olunca, en seçkin sözlerin ve en önemli öğütlerin söyleneceği çok doğaldır. Buna göre, bu nur yumağı buyruklara dikkat etmek elzemdir.

Ne mutlu ki, bu arzu gerçekleşmiş ve hazretin tavsiyeleri bizlere ulaşmıştır! Tarih, bu vasiyetleri çok değerli bir hazine olarak kaydetmiş ve bu kıymetli mirası, hazretin fani dünya ile vedalaştığı anlarda mevcut bulunmayan herkes için korumuştur. Bugün bizler bu enfes miras ile baş başayız; onun kadrini bilmeli ve en güzel şekilde ondan faydalanmaya cehdetmeliyiz.
